Nov 27, 2019 For Host field, enter the default router IP (usually 192.168.1.1). For Port field, enter port 69 (it is the default port number for TFTP). For Local File, browse to the location of the downloaded firmware file and select it. At this point, do not click on PUT. Unplug all port connections from router except this PC.

Download NETGEAR D7000 Router Firmware 1.0.1.78 (Router / Switch / AP). PSV-2019-0170 Invalid CPE Certificate for Remote Access. Click ADVANCED tab Administration Firmware Upgrade. Click Browse and find the file you just downloaded. Do not interrupt the upgrade.
I would like to confirm the reported problem of 'firmware file invalid or corrupted'. Today, I tried to upgrade my firmware using the method I have been using for years, and is outlined in the Release Notes. Simply stated, I would down load the firmware file, and upload it to the router, via a wired network.
I have almost 300 Mb without Shortcut Forwarding Engine and 650 Mb/s throughput LAN <> WAN with SFE turned on, on my R6400v2 with the latest Kong build Try 'erase nvram' from Command Line Interface / Putty and put settings in manually
You inspired me to change firmware to dd. Before I started I cheked the connection speed on stock firmware on wifi 5GHz and 2.4 5 GHz was 150 Mb and 2.4 was 80-90 Mb. 5 minutes later I had DD with clean memory. I set only wlan and lan and I repeated connection speed (same servers). Results was withering. 5Ghz has 7Mb, 2.4 has 3 Mb. Tell my why there are such differences with speeds. I have two other devices (TP-Link) and there are no such problems. Both working on DD. Now I come back to stock.

We can’t do that. It’s out of our control. _________________ I am far from a guru, I'm barely a novice.
I did a quick search through the pages of this thread, but saw no mention about the R6700v2. What's the status on this? Can I use any of the firmware versions with it? Thanks!

Only the latest Kong 36480M and BS 36995 are working for the R6700v3 I trust you used these builds. Report your findings in the respective build threads so that it is noted by the devs https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=316717 https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=316543
Tried both. PPP-based protocols didn't work on WAN port.

That's a MediaTek chipset, not Broadcom. The only two devices with the same hardware AFAIK are the DIR-878 and DIR-882. The R6700v2 is not directly supported to my knowledge, but you might check through the proper forum (Ralink, I think?) to see if anyone has a workaround.

my Netgear R6400V2 get bricked, i tried with multiple times to use tftp2 tool to upload the recovery .chk file downloaded from the beginning of this post, while always get error messages from tftp2 tool: invalid file name I think i need to change the header of this .chk file, how to do this? and what shall i write on the new header? I am very new in debricking routers and do not know linux commands, while i am interested in studying it, hope someone can guide me, thanks! my board ID is U12H332T20_NETGEAR ( i use telnet nvram show | grep board, to get this information, and this U12H332T20 is printed in the PCB board of my R6400V2 when i open it) the recovery .chk file name: R6400v2-V1.0.2.52_U12H332T20_NETGEAR.chk

Read the second post of this thread. Many of us have had our routers not working. Though we call it bricked - it is truly bricked only when you are unable to ping the router. If you can ping the router, it is easy-peasy to recover. I have done this a dozen times already. You are able to telnet to the router. Definitely not bricked. NMRPFLASH should get it up and running easily. Read the instructions carefully, though. Needs patience. _________________ PROFESSIONAL STUDENT my.Mistakes ∝ my.Learning ... provided I have the patience & persistence to learn

Ive tried most everything suggest (most as in I may have missed something in the tons of posts). I am still unable to flash anything it seems. I keep on getting the error 'This firmware is incorrect! Please get the firmware file again and please make sure it is the correct firmware for this product'. I tried flashing kong to Netgear firmware months ago (cant find the package anymore) and it brought me to the netgear r6400 firmware version 1.0.0.26_1.0.14. I have tried everything I can think of - I cant even tftp new files to it BUT I can login / ping which means its not bricked.

I downloaded all I could find. I did v2 from beginning to current for ALL firmware from netgear, not a single one was successful.

WARNING - PLEASE READ BEFOREUPGRADE:
Upgrading firmware (in most cases) will reset all settings backto defaults. This includes the login passwords, the IP address andInternet connection settings provided by your ISP. Please ensureyou have backed this information up before proceeding.
We recommend performing a reset to factory defaults after anyfirmware upgrade to avoid conflicts with prior configurations.
Do NOT upgrade firmware from a computerconnected wirelessly. Use a computer that connects to the routerusing an Ethernet cable. You may cause the router to becomeinoperable due to the wireless connection dropping while theupgrade is in process.
Netgear Modem Firmware Update
To upgrade the firmware of your router, you will first need todownload the required files from the D-Link Support page for thisrouter. After saving it to a local storage device (e.g. harddrive),you will have to unzip the file.
Once this is done, log in to the web configuration interface, goto the TOOLS or MAINTENANCE tab and click on the UPDATE FIRMWARE button on theleft-hand side. Click on Browse, browse to andselect the file that you saved before, then click on Update Firmware or Firmware.
The router will then copy the new firmware into its memory andperform the update, after which it will reboot. This will takeapproximately three minutes.
